The State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) would organise the second session of the fourth edition of Bal Vidhan Sabha on June 5 and 6 in Gairsain. It will be joined by 70 child legislators from all the districts of the State. This is the first time the commission will be organising Bal Vidhan Sabha in Gairsain. According to the SCPCR officials, the child legislators will take part in question- hour and review meetings involving several departments of the Bal Vidhan Sabha.
The commission has recently held a meeting with the child MLAs regarding the preparation for the Bal Vidhan Sabha. The SCPCR chairperson Geeta Khanna instructed them to be ready with the questions to be asked in the second session. She directed the children to prepare department-specific questions. This apart, she asked them to submit the report of their performance in the session. She also informed that the child MLAs can also offer suggestions to the State government on how to perform better.
SCPCR conducts Bal Vidhan Sabha every year to help children imbibe the democratic values and learn about the desired transparency of the government functioning, said Khanna.
