The district administration is organising a two-day special registration camp for the registration of the new voters at all the polling stations of the district this weekend. Informing about the camp, the Dehradun district magistrate and the district election officer, R Rajesh Kumar said that the camp is being organised to mark all the new voters aged 18 to 19 years old to ensure the participation of maximum eligible voters in the district during elections.
He said that the department concerned has also been instructed to conduct rallies, street plays and cultural programmes under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation Programme (SVEEP) to raise awareness among the voters. He also appealed to the young and new potential voters to register themselves in the electoral roll at their respective polling booths on November 13 and 14.
