Uttarakhand ranked third in SDG index of NITI Aayog

Uttarakhand ranked third in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) index report 2020 released by the NITI Aayog. The State made considerable improvement jumping to the third position from the ninth position achieved last year.
According to the SDG index report 2020, Kerala has secured first rank. Uttarakhand has secured third rank making considerable progress compared to other states in the fields of poverty alleviation, food security, decreasing malnutrition, water and sanitation, energy, social security, forest management and law and order.
In what comes as a major achievement for the state, Uttarakhand is ranked first in law and order, justice and strong institutions. Uttarakhand received 89 points in eight aspects of this head to top the category. Gujarat and Mizoram secured second and third ranks respectively.
Thanking the NITI Aayog for this recognition, the state’s director general of police, Ashok Kumar credited the consistent support being received from the state administration and hard work of all Uttarakhand police officers and personnel for this achievement.
