U’khand to provide Ayushman cards for orphans

The State Health department has decided to extend the benefit of the Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana (AAUY) to orphans. In a meeting with the officers of the Health department at the office of the State health authority on Thursday, the Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat directed that the Ayushman cards of the orphans in the state should be made. He said that there are thousands of orphan boys and girls in the state. Rawat directed that the secretary level meeting of the child development and food and civil supplies department should be held soon on the subject. 

  In the meeting the minister told the officers that the health interaction programmes of the department should continue. He said that the officers of the department would inspect the district and block level hospitals and hold interaction with the patients under the programme. The feedback of the patients would be used to make plans for improving the health services in the state. The minister disclosed that a two day session would be held in the month of July in which in depth deliberations would be made for improving the state health services. Discussions would also be held during the session for devising ways to ensure that the benefits of different health schemes reach the common man. Apart from the officers of the department, experts of the field would also be invited in the session.

The health secretary Radhika Jha, chairman of the state health authority D K Kotia, mission director National Health Mission (NHM) Sonika, the Vice Chancellor (VC) of Uttarakhand Medical Education University Hem Chandra, additional secretary Arunendra Singh Chauhan, director health Dr Meetu Shah and others were present on the occasion.
