The registrar of UPES, Manish Madaan has stressed that the university will act appropriately as per the rules in the case of some of its students booked by the police for raising ruckus. He said,”The incident has been brought to our notice and we are gathering all necessary details about it. Appropriate action will be taken as per the rules and protocol of the university’s disciplinary committee. We are in complete sync with local administration and we will support them in the best possible manner,” he said.
The police had caught and booked four students of two private universities on Thursday for raising ruckus in a public place after consuming alcohol near Paundha Road. The police is conducting a campaign in areas with prominent colleges and universities on the orders of the Dehradun senior superintendent of police Daleep Singh Kunwar to maintain law and order.
