Uttarakhand Congress launches intellectual outreach campaign

The intellectual cell of the Uttarakhand Congress has decided to add 14,300 intellectuals such as teachers, scientists, scholars and retired employees with the organization of the party in one year. The president of the cell Pradeep Joshi said that a meeting of the cell was organized in the State headquarters of the party on Sunday and in it the state level outreach campaign of the cell was launched. He said that in the campaign, the cell will try to bring the basic principles of the Indian constitution, freedom struggle and Indian national Congress into the social discourse. Joshi said that the cell has made an appeal to the intellectuals to take part in the endeavor to strengthen the concept of Indian nationalism.
“ The cell will keep the six fundamental principles of Indian National Congress- national unity, democracy, socialism, secularism, inclusive development and social justice- at the center of its discourse. We will work on the principle of ‘think globally and act locally’ and encourage retired scientists, teachers, ex-servicemen and others to join the Congress party. The motto of our outreach programme will be ‘when good people unite, democracy thrives,’’ he said.
The meeting was attended by Prem Baukhandi, Sujata Paul, Kuldeep Jakhmola, Anand Bahuguna, R K Singh Baghel, HB Pant, Paritosh and others.
