Valley of Flowers to reopen for visitors on June 1

The world famous Valley of Flowers in Chamoli district will be reopened to tourists on June 1. This unique valley with more than 500 species of flowers will remain open to tourists till October 30.

Deputy conservator of forests BB Martolia informed that the first group of visitors will be sent off from the Ghangharia base camp to the Valley of Flowers on June 1. After undertaking the trek in the valley, the visitors will have to return to the base camp on the same day. All necessary arrangements have been made for the accommodation of the tourists at the base camp. He informed that Indian citizens will be charged Rs 200 eco trek fee while foreign visitors will be charged Rs 800 each for trekking the valley.
