The leader of opposition (LoP) in the state assembly Yashpal Arya has said that the hike in circle rates has added fuel to the increasing prices and has made things very difficult for the general public. He said that the hike has ensured the dream of the people of buying land and constructing their own house.
Arya said that the circle rates have been increased 70 to 120 per cent by the State government and never ever in the history such an increase had been affected. He said that it is very unfortunate that the government has taken this decision at a time when most of the mountainous areas of the State are suffering from the problem of land subsidence.
He demanded that the State government should immediately roll back the hike in the circle rates.
