10 countries’ delegation visits MCD for training on governance

The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) hosted a delegation of officials from 10 countries as part of a training programme organised by the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) under Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie. The delegation included representatives from countries such as Gambia, Thailand and Indonesia, with the group led by associate professor and administrator-in-charge at NCGG AP Singh.

The session was presided over by Dehradun municipal commissioner Namami Bansal who addressed the participants via video conferencing. During the interaction, the commissioner provided an overview of the roles and responsibilities of the corporation and answered queries from the visiting officials. The participants also conducted an inspection of the tax department, where they received a detailed briefing on the property tax system and its implementation.

Other senior officials of the corporation were also present at the meeting. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the deputy municipal commissioner Gopal Ram Binwal, expressing gratitude to all participants for their interest and engagement. The visiting delegation also expressed their desire to continue sharing best practices in governance through similar programmes in the future.
