10 deaths, 2,081 new cases of Covid in U’khand

The state Health department reported the death of 10 patients from novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) from different parts of Uttarakhand on Wednesday. It also reported 2,081 new cases of the disease on the day.
The state Health department has so far detected 80,222 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year till date. A total of 52,069 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 146 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year. The recovery percentage of the disease was at 64.91 per cent on Wednesday. The positivity rate of the disease was reported at 7.56 per cent on the day.
The authorities reported the death of three patients at Mahant Indiresh Hospital Dehradun on Wednesday while two patients died at Metro hospital, Haridwar on the day. Similarly one patient each was reported dead All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh, Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital, Dehradun, Himalayan hospital, Dehradun and BC Joshi hospital (DRDO) Nainital on Wednesday.
The health department reported 761 new patients from Dehradun, 206 from Haridwar, 209 from Almora, 150 from Nainital, 142 from Rudraprayag, 119 from Udham Singh Nagar, 106 each from Chamoli and Bageshwar, 89 from Pithoragarh, 88 from Pauri, 65 from Tehri, 26 from Champawat and 14 from Uttarkashi on Wednesday.
The active case count of Covid-19 in the state is now at 25,560. Dehradun with 13,066 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Haridwar has 3,280 active cases of the disease which is followed by Pauri district with 2,351 active cases. Uttarkashi is at the bottom of the table with 133 active cases of the disease. In the ongoing vaccination drive 1,11,634 people were vaccinated in 1826 sessions in the state held on Wednesday.
