Various decisions taken in cabinet meeting chaired by CM
The state cabinet headed by chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat took decisions on 20 points in its meeting held on Wednesday while one issue was deferred for the next meeting. Informing the media about the decisions taken in the cabinet meeting, cabinet minister and state government spokesman Madan Kaushik said that house tax will not be collected in new areas brought under the purview of total of 40 local bodies including Panchayats and municipalities. The cabinet also approved provision of 1,072 acre land for Pantnagar airport in Udham Singh Nagar free of cost. Further, CIPET in Doiwala area will be provided land on lease free of cost for 30 years.
In an important decision under the school education department, the cabinet approved the opening of two Atal Utkrisht Vidyalaya in each block. In order to encourage women entrepreneurs in the state, the cabinet also approved the proposal for establishing 5,100 kiosks in urban areas for women entrepreneurs in the first stage of the chief minister women entrepreneurs encouragement scheme.
Regarding the pending electricity bills of IDPL, it was decided that out of the total Rs 257 crore due, a sum of Rs 46 crore will be taken from IDPL while book adjustment will be done for the remaining Rs 211 crore. The cabinet also granted its approval to 27 posts regarding the online e-governance structure for provision of 24 hour public service facility in urban local bodies. Further, to enhance the ease of doing business, it was decided that for licensing improvement, depositing the fixed charge online will result in automatic renewal. This facility will be applicable for municipal corporations, municipalities and Nagar Panchayats.
The cabinet also approved provision of facility for procuring green cards online for 10-seater vehicles after amendment in Uttarakhand Motor Vehicles Rules 2011. Kaushik further informed that the cabinet was informed about the more than 100 government orders issued for effective control on Covid-19. For the year 2018-19, the cabinet approved Rs 30.61 crore for the scheduled caste post-matric scholarship scheme. Further, the cabinet approved setting up of a Madhu Gram in each district for bee keeping. At the Nyay Panchayat level, 95 model Madhu Gram will be established.
