A 10-year old was fatally electrocuted after he accidentally touched a broken 11,000 volts electricity line here on Sunday. The incident occurred near Tibdi railway crossing under the Kotwali police station area of Haridwar on Sunday evening. Ten year old Ayush was playing out in the open and had gone towards the bushes when he accidentally touched the broken electricity wire. Hearing the scream, two policemen on Kanwad Mela duty nearby rescued the child by using a stick to disconnect the child from the wire.
He was taken by the locals to the district hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
The police sent the body for post-mortem. Haridwar Kotwali SSI Vinod Thapliyal informed that the police had learnt about a child being electrocuted fatally, adding that the incident is being investigated.
