10,298 rooftop solar plants installed in U’khand under PM Surya Ghar Yojana

The managing director of the UPCL, Anil Kumar Yadav has said that Uttarakhand is among top five States in the country in per capita power generation in solar power. Interacting with the mediapersons at the Urja Bhawan here on Friday the MD said that Uttarakhand has taken a target of generating 1,400 MW of solar power till 2027 and the State is on the right path to achieve the target.
He said that the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana is eliciting very good response in the State. He said that 10,298 roof top solar plants under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana have been installed so far this year. “We have set a target of installing 40,000 solar rooftop plants in the State by 2027 and we are receiving very good public response. Solar energy is clean energy and everyone can contribute in the effort to make our environment pollution free,’’ he said.
The MD said that the State has set a target of generating 250 MW of power from households, 750 MW from commercial and industry, 350 MW from institutional and 50 MW from agriculture sector till the year 2027.
The chief engineer, solar cell Ashish Arora said that in Uttarakhand the number of empanelled vendors servicing the residential sector has increased to 365.
Arora added that Uttarakhand is one of the leading States providing state subsidy, in addition to central subsidy under PM Surya Ghar. The State is providing a subsidy of Rs 17,000 per kW. For installing a solar plant of three KW capacity the State government provided a subsidy of Rs 51,000 which is highest in the country. The Union government is providing an additional subsidy of Rs 85,800 for installing a three KW solar plant.
Two day Solar fair to be held at Rangers Ground
DEHRADUN : The Uttarakhand government will organise a two day Solar fair ( Sorr Kauthik) on December 16 and 17 at Rangers ground, Dehradun. The objective of the fair is to acquaint people with the benefits of solar power and the various schemes of the government. The MD of UPCL, Anil Kumar Yadav said that the consumers will be informed that the roof top solar power plant will reduce their electricity bill appreciably. He said that the fair will provide a platform to all the stakeholders of solar power in the State. Yadav said that the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will inaugurate the fair and flag of the solar van and unveil the mural art on December 16. Panel discussions on solar power, drawing competitions, technical sessions and cultural programmes will be organised during the two day event.
