PNS | DEHRADUN

The 10th World Ayurveda Congress (WAC) and Arogya exposition concluded here on Sunday while also setting a record of the highest number of delegates attending the WAC so far. According to officials, 12,000 delegates attended the event. Further, citizens of 54 nations participated in the WAC in Dehradun. About 300 foreign delegates attended the event and expressed their interest in AYUSH.

The officials informed that about 1,800 delegates had registered for the first WAC and last year, the ninth WAC in Goa saw the registration of 5,102 delegates. Since it was announced that the 10th WAC will be hosted by Uttarakhand, it was being thought that a record number of delegates would register for the event. This was also because Uttarakhand is considered an ideal State from the perspective of AYUSH. As a result, a large number of delegates from across India and abroad attended this event and deliberated upon various aspects of Ayurveda and holistic healing.

AYUSH additional secretary Vijay Jogdande said that a total of 12,000 delegates registered for the event. Further, 300 people from 54 nations attended the WAC. Detailed discussions were held on AYUSH and new possibilities in the field, he added.

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Uttarakhand is grateful to the delegates from across India and abroad for the successful WAC and Arogya expo. “Important discussions have been held here and these will have far reaching consequences. We are committed to developing AYUSH further and ensuring that the public benefits from it,” the CM said.
