110 new cases of Covid-19 reported in U’khand

Cumulative tally of Covid patients now stands at 98,041 

Amid fears of a second wave of Covid-19 in some states of the country, the state health department reported 110 new cases of the disease on Wednesday. The state now has a cumulative number of 98,041 patients with the disease. Incidentally the state reported more than 100 new cases after many days on Wednesday.

The authorities discharged 35 patients of the disease from different hospitals on the day following their recovery from the disease. A total of 94250 patients have so far recovered from the disease in the state.  The recovery percentage from the disease now stands at 96.13 and the sample positivity rate is 3.79 percent. Death of no patient was reported to the health department on the day. In the state 1704 patients have succumbed to the disease. 

The health department reported 40 new patients of the disease in Dehradun, 34 from Haridwar, 18 from Udham Singh Nagar, 13 from Nainital, two each from Pauri and Pithoragarh and one from Almora on Wednesday.  No new patients were reported from Bageshwar, Chamoli, Champawat, Rudraprayag, Tehri and Uttarkashi districts on the day. 

The state now has 672 active patients of Covid-19 with Haridwar at top of the table with 240 cases. Dehradun has 169, Nainital 101, Udham Singh Nagar 50, Pauri 35, Almora 18, Champawat 16, Tehri 10, Pithoragarh nine, Rudraprayag seven, Bageshwar five and Chamoli three cases of the disease. 

Meanwhile 14179 people were vaccinated in 315 vaccine sessions on Wednesday. A total of 102282 people have so far fully vaccinated in the state while 143509 senior citizens (age 60 and above) have received the first shot of the vaccine. In the state 8029 persons of age 45 to 69 years with co morbidity have got the first dose of the vaccine. In Haridwar district 117 vaccine sessions were held on Wednesday in which 2533 senior citizens (60 year and above), 248 persons with co-morbidity, 59 health care workers and 330 frontline workers were vaccinated. In Dehradun 1897 senior citizens, 93 persons with co-morbidity, 188 health care workers and 283 frontline workers were vaccinated in 38 vaccine sessions on the day.
