112 Agniveers greet Defence minister in Haldwani

Defence minister Rajnath Singh met a group of newly recruited Agniveers of the Indian Army during his Haldwani visit on Saturday. The Union minister was greeted by 112 Agniveers recently recruited from Uttarakhand on his arrival in Haldwani with a boisterous cry of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. Singh greeted the Agniveers and said that they are welcome in the India Army to protect Mother India. 

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami accompanied the Union minister on the occasion. He applied Tilak on the foreheads of the young Agniveers and wished them in their endeavour to serve the country. These Agniveers had gone training in the camps of the Youth Foundation.

 The foundation’s chairman colonel (retd) Ajay Kothiyal said that 752 candidates had attended the training camp of the Youth Foundation and out of them 710 have got selected. He said that the foundation provides free training to the youngsters of Uttarakhand to get recruited in the Indian armed forces. The attendees are given training in physical and written examinations. Kothiyal claimed that more than 15,000 youths trained in the camps of the foundation are serving the armed forces, paramilitary and police.

The Defence minister appreciated the Youth Foundation and its founder Kothiyal for serving the society and the nation.
