1172 students awarded degrees at Pantnagar University’s 36th convocation

The 36th convocation of G B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology was held at its premises on Wednesday during which the Chancellor of the university and the State Governor Lt Gen (retd) Gurmit Singh awarded degrees to 1172 students in the presence of the vice-chancellor Manmohan Singh Chauhan.

Among the dignitaries present on the occasion were the Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Ajay Tamta and the State Agriculture and Farmers Welfare minister Ganesh Joshi. Notably, the Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and the Padma Shri awardee Prem Chandra Sharma were honoured with the honorary title of Vigyan Varidhi.  

On this occasion, apart from honouring Diksha Upreti with the Chancellor’s Gold Medal for being the best graduate, 15 students were awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Gold Medal. Besides, Vice Chancellor’s Silver and Bronze Medals were given to 12 students each.
