118 deaths, 7120 new cases in Uttarakhand on Tuesday

The contagion of the Covid-19 in the second wave is showing no signs of any respite in Uttarakhand. The state health department reported 7120 new patients and the death of 118 patients on Tuesday.

The state now has 2,56,934 (cumulative) patients of the disease. The authorities discharged 4,993 patients after recovery from the hospitals on Tuesday. A total of 1,71,454 patients have so far recovered from the disease while the death toll has mounted to 4014 in the state.

Out of the 118 deaths reported on Tuesday, 16 are from Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani, 13 from Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital Dehradun, 12 each from HNB Base Hospital Srinagar and Military Hospital (MH) Dehradun, nine each from District hospital Pithoragarh and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on Tuesday. Similarly eight patients were reported dead in Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun, six at Base hospital Almora, five each at Kailash and ONGC hospital Dehradun and four each at Arogyadham hospital and Max hospital Dehradun on the day.

The provisional state capital Dehradun reeling under the onslaught of the disease reported 2201 new cases of the disease on Tuesday. Nainital reported 1152, Udham Singh Nagar 813,  Haridwar 649, Uttarkashi 586, Rudraprayag 368, Pauri 359, Almora 302, Tehri 296, Pithoragarh 165, Chamoli 155, Champawat 80 and  Bageshwar 24 new cases of the disease on Tuesday.

The state now has 76,500 active patients of the disease. Dehradun remains at the top of the table of active cases of the disease with 27,938 patients; Haridwar has 12,457, Nainital 7057, Udham Singh Nagar 6,868, Pauri 4,841, Tehri 4297, Uttarkashi 2080, Chamoli 2228, Champawat 1942, Almora 1,855, Rudraprayag 1742, Pithoragarh 1654 and Bageshwar 1541 active cases of the disease.  To contain the contagion of Covid-19, the state administration has set up 422 containment zones in different parts of the state.

  In the ongoing vaccination drive 53036 people were vaccinated in 665 sessions in different parts of the state. A total of 6,56862 people have so far been fully vaccinated in the state while 18,09,317 have been partially vaccinated.
