Haridwar ranks first among U’khand districts in Swachh Survekshan 2023

In latest Uttarakhand news, the director of Swajal Project Haridwar informed that Haridwar district topped the list of the districts of Uttarakhand with 482 gram panchayats in the district having been adjudged as the best performing ones in the State based on the marking of the Swachh Survekshan 2023 under Swachh Bharat Mission (rural). This aside, this district has ranked sixth in the national level. Furthermore, 13 gram panchayats the names of which had been sent to the State government were declared as the best performing ones. In recognition of these sanitation-related achievements, the district magistrate Dhiraj Singh Garbyal would felicitate these panchayats on September 21. Notably, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had felicitated the gram panchayat Kheda Jat under Narsan block and gram panchayat Bhangherimahabatpur in Roorkee block for their excellent performance under the category of villages with over 5000 population. Mention worthy, the Union ministry of water resources had conducted the Swachh Survekshan last month to evaluate the performance of the rural bodies regarding sanitation and against this evaluation, several gram panchayats in Haridwar district are likely to be selected for felicitation.
