12 injured as bus carrying marriage party meets with an accident in Doon

A private bus carrying 30 passengers met with an accident near the Lachhiwala Toll Plaza in the Doiwala area of Dehradun on Thursday. The bus, a 36-seater, was carrying people of a Baraat that was returning to Sangam Vihar in Delhi.

According to the officials, the driver Bablu claimed that the brakes of the vehicle failed near the toll plaza due to which he lost control and the bus veered off the course and collided with the road divider. The officials said that a female passenger, identified as 44-year-old Manju, sustained serious injuries, while 11 passengers suffered minor injuries.

The injured included four women, three minors aged between five to 13 years old besides five men. They claimed that the police team was dispatched to the spot and ensured that the injured passengers were taken to a hospital for treatment on time. The investigation is ongoing, they added.
