122 roads remain blocked in various parts of State

Many parts of the State have been witnessing comparatively clear weather in recent days. However, this has not reduced the problems being faced by landslides with at least 122 roads still being blocked in various parts of the State. According to the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) on Saturday evening, 11 rural motor roads are blocked in the Rudraprayag district where the bridle path to Kedarnath is open. The national highway to Gangotri in Uttarkashi district is open for traffic though the national highway to Yamunotri is closed to large vehicles due to a washout near Fulchatti/Jankichatti. Three rural motor roads are blocked in the district. The national highway to Badrinath in Chamoli district is open for traffic though the Chamoli-Gopeshwar-Chopta national highway 107A is closed to big vehicles at the 34 kilometre mark due to the collapse of a wall. One State highway, one main district road, one other district road and 21 rural motor roads are blocked in the district. Two rural motor roads are blocked in Nainital district while one main district road and seven rural motor roads are blocked in Bageshwar district. Two State highways and 10 rural motor roads are blocked in the Dehradun district while one State highway and one rural motor road are blocked in Almora district. A total of 19 rural motor roads are blocked in Pithoragarh district while one State highway and one rural motor road are blocked in Udham Singh Nagar district. Thirteen rural motor roads are blocked in the Pauri district while one national highway and 13 rural motor roads are blocked in Tehri district.
