122nd Sri Ma Nanda Mahotsav begins in Nainital

The 122nd Sri Ma Nanda Devi Mahotsav organised by Sri Ram Sevak Sabha began here on Sunday. Addressing the gathering virtually, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that traditional fairs are vital to keep the people connected to their culture and roots. The State government is adding new dimensions to add grandeur and preserve such traditional fairs. He said that the government is ensuring development while honouring religious faith. Nainital MLA Sarita Arya said that she will strive to gain international recognition for this fair. Nainital senior superintendent of police Prahlad Narayan Meena said that the Nanda Devi Mahotsav brings the people together while also bringing joy to the public. Sub divisional magistrate Pramod Kumar informed the gathering in detail about the fair. Earlier, the Sri Ram Sevak Sabha’s head Majon Sah, general secretary Jagdish Chandra Bawadi and former head Mukesh Joshi welcomed the gathering on behalf of the organisers. Alon with ritual worship, children also presented Ganesh Stuti and Nanda Stuti on the occasion.
