In latest Uttarakhand news, the Union ministry of women and child development has approved establishment of 13 Nirbhaya hostels for women in Uttarakhand. It is further learnt that Rs 48 crore has been approved for the execution of this project. Such hostels with 50 beds will come up in Bhimtal, Haldwani, Bhagwanpur, Selaqui, Pithoragarh, Champawat, Almora, Karnprayag, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Pauri, Bageshwar and Rudraprayag. Commenting on the approval, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that these hostels will provide residential facilities to the working women or the girls doing higher studies in these districts. He thanked the Centre for approving this project on his appeal.
