PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun

The State government has decided to undertake a special 15- day campaign to reach the doorstep of the people from July 4. The campaign is being organised to mark completion of five years of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in office.

Given the success of last year’s ‘Jan Jan Ki Sarkar – Jan Jan Ke Dwar’ programme to address public issues, the State government has decided to undertake the campaign once again on Dhami’s directions. Under the campaign, special camps will be organised at the district, block and Tehsil levels, where officers and employees from the departments concerned will address public issues.

The campaign will be organised as a 15-day long ‘Sewa Pakhwada’. During the fortnight, eligible beneficiaries will also be provided with the benefits of various government schemes.  The ‘Jan Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan Jan Ke Dwar’ programme was launched in December last year. During the 45-day long programme 681 camps were organised in which a total of 5,33,452 citizens participated and 33,000 public grievances were resolved.

Dhami said that the objective of the State government is that the people should receive the benefit of the government services without any hassle and this hassle-free service is the first step towards good governance. Keeping this in mind the second phase of the ‘Jan Jan Ki Sarkar – Jan Jan Ke Dwar’ campaign is being launched in all districts. All the officers and employees concerned have been instructed to be present in these camps, he added.
