15,000 govt jobs given to youth in last 3 years: CM Dhami

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that jobs to more than 15,000 youths were provided in the last three years in different departments of the State government. He was addressing a programme at his residence on Wednesday in which appointment letters were handed over to 212 candidates selected from the government polytechnic institutes of the State. The programme was organised by the technical education department.

 Congratulating the youngsters who got appointment letters, the CM said that their hard work and dedication has been rewarded. He expressed hope that all the candidates will work with dedication to discharge the duties assigned to them. The CM said that the State government is striving to ensure that the youth get job opportunities in every sector.  He said that the private sector is also playing a key role in generating employment in the State. The private industrial units are strong pillars of the economic development of the State. Dhami averred that Uttarakhand has no dearth of talent and the State government is working to give right direction and opportunities to the talented youngsters.

Dhami said that creating employment opportunities is key for attaining the targets of Viksit Bharat and Viksit Uttarakhand.

 He claimed that many historic works in the fields of technology, employment and skill development have occurred in the last ten years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The CM said that the youth have got opportunities to move forward in all sectors and under the leadership of PM Modi, priority has been accorded to innovation and technology.

 A new industrial revolution has started in the country by the schemes such as Start-up India, and Make in India.

 The CM said that the State government has set up an online training and placement centre for the students of technical education.  He said that the State government has made the recruitment process transparent and the examinations and appointments are taking place within the stipulated time period.

 The CM further said that the transparency in recruitment examinations has increased the faith of youth in the system. This transparency is possible only when both intent and plan are clear, he said. He said that Uttarakhand has got first position in achieving the targets of sustainable development goals (SDG) released by the NITI Ayog.

 Technical education minister Subodh Uniyal said that special emphasis is being given on imparting quality education in the field of technical education. He claimed that 2303 out of 3500 students in the final year of the polytechnic institutes have got employment.

The Rajya Sabha MP Kalpana Saini, chairperson of Gau Sewa Ayog Rajendra Anthwal, additional secretary Swati Bhadauria and others attended the programme.
