15,314  visit shrines on Winter Char Dham Yatra

In latest news from Doon, following the inauguration of the Winter Char Dham Yatra at Ukhimath on December 8, over 15,000 pilgrims have visited the winter abodes of the four deities. Braving the bone-chilling cold and frequent snowfall spells, pilgrims are pouring in in large numbers at Omkareshwar temple, the winter abode of Lord Kedarnath; Pandukeshwar temple, the winter abode of Lord Badrivishal; Mukhba temple, the winter abode of the deity of Gantotri temple and Kharsali temple, the winter abode of the Yamunotri temple deity.    

As per the administration sources, till December 30, 15,314 pilgrims visited the four temples: 6482 for Omkareshwar, 5104 for Pandukeshwar, 3114 for Mukhba temple and 614 for Kharsali temple.  The administration said it had taken all possible steps to ensure hassle-free Winter Char Dham Yatra.
