159 motor roads blocked across the state

About 159 roads were blocked in various districts on the state as on Tuesday evening due to rain, landslides and other factors, according to the state emergency operation centre (SEOC). In Uttarkashi district, while the Rishikesh-Gangotri national highway 108 and Rishikesh-Yamunotri national highway 94 were open for traffic, the Uttarkashi-Lambgaon-Srinagar road was blocked due to damaged bridge near Sada.
Twenty rural motor roads were blocked in the district. In Chamoli district the Rishikesh-Badrinath national highway 58 was open for traffic while 38 rural motor roads were blocked in the district. One state road and 13 rural motor roads were reported blocked in Dehradun district while one state road and 18 rural motor roads were blocked in Pauri district. Eighteen rural motor roads were blocked in the Tehri district while seven rural motor roads were blocked in Bageshwar district.
In the Nainital district, one state road and seven rural motor roads were blocked while in Almora district one state road and seven rural motor roads were blocked. Nine rural motor roads were blocked in the Champawat district while two border roads and 14 rural motor roads were blocked in the Pithoragarh district. Efforts are underway to clear the blocked roads for traffic.
