The provisional state Dehradun is again showing signs of a spurt in the cases of Covid-19. On Saturday the state Health department of Uttarakhand reported 17 new patients of the Covid-19 in the state out of which 16 were from Dehradun district only. Death of no patient was reported from the infection in the state on the day. The authorities also declared 23 patients cured from the disease on the day. The department has so far detected 92,500 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year till date. A total of 88,894 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 275 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year. The recovery percentage of the disease was at 96.08 per cent on Saturday. The positivity rate of the disease was reported at 0.84 per cent on the day. The health department reported 15 new patients from Dehradun and one from Nainital on the day.
Dehradun with 77 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Haridwar has eight and Nainital five active cases of the disease. Pithoragarh and Rudraprayag districts have no active cases of the disease. In the ongoing vaccination drive 24,767 people were vaccinated in 1096 sessions in the state held on Saturday.
