16 students selected for National Science Congress

The Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST) organised the 29th Children’s Science Congress on Saturday. Rural Development and Migration Commission vice chairman SS Negi was the chief guest on the occasion.
National Children Science Congress is a flagship program of NCSTC and Department of Science and Technology. The programme is aimed at creating scientific temper among science students from the school level and any other children with scientific ideas. This science congress was organised in all 95 blocks of Uttarakhand through School Education department and about 1,500 projects were presented by child scientists at the district level. Total 137 child scientists made presentations at the state level and 16 of them were selected for national level Children’s Science Congress going to be held from February 15 to 18. The child scientists were selected for their presentations on various themes including ecosystem for sustainable living, appropriate technology for sustainable living, social innovation for sustainable living, design development modelling and planning for sustainable living and traditional knowledge system for sustainable living. These students were selected for the National Science Congress. UCOST director general Rajendra Dobhal, Science City adviser GS Rautela, UCOST joint director DP Uniyal and others were also present on the occasion.
