17,000 new appointments made in last 3 years in government departments: CM

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the State government has provided more than 17,000 jobs to the youth in different departments of the government in the last three years. He was virtually addressing a programme in which appointment letters were handed over to 1,094 junior engineers. Dhami said that after taking oath as the CM on July 4, 2021, the cabinet in its first meeting decided that all the vacant posts in government departments will be filled. He said that many recruitment examinations are underway in the State and the State government has succeeded in reducing the time interval between recruitment requisitions and giving appointment letters. He said that a recruitment calendar has also been set in place. Dhami claimed that all the recruitment examinations held in the State after the implementation of anti-copying law were held in a transparent manner. In the stringent act provision of life sentence and confiscation of the property of the mafia has been made.
The CM said that a new work culture has developed in the country under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and consistent efforts are being made by the State government for setting in place a new work culture in Uttarakhand. CM said that the State has got first place in the country on the parameters of sustainable development indicators released by the NITI Aayog recently. The CM congratulated all the newly appointed junior engineers and also interacted with some of them virtually. He expressed confidence that the newly appointed engineers will strengthen different departments of the State.
Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj said that the appointment of new junior engineers in the state will speed up the work of the departments.
Cabinet Minister Premchand Agarwal said that with the arrival of new junior engineers, one more link has been added to the development and the needs of the state. He said that there was a huge shortage of junior engineers in the Urban Development and Housing departments and with the appointment of new engineers the problem is solved now. With the arrival of new junior engineers, the shortage has been solved. The work will be accelerated. Now the development work will gain momentum.
The State government appointed 252 junior engineers in the Public Works Department, 137 in Irrigation department, 134 in Housing department, 91 in Peyajal, , 46 in Minor Irrigation department, 41 in Panchayati Raj department, 32 in Urban Development department, , 49 in Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Limited, 37 in Agriculture department and five in Power Transmission Corporation of Uttarakhand Limited.
Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, MLA Savita Kapur, additional chief secretary Anand Bardhan, secretaries Ranjit Sinha, SN Pandey, R Rajesh Kumar, and others were present on the occasion.
