185 roads blocked, rescue & relief works continue in affected areas

A total of 185 roads are reported to be blocked in various parts of the State. According to information provided by the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC), out of the 166 blocked roads under the Public Works Department, 61 were reopened on Wednesday. Of the 105 roads blocked, four are State highways, six main district roads, six other district roads and 89 rural motor roads. Further, out of total 94 PMGSY roads blocked, 14 were reopened on Wednesday while efforts are underway to reopen the remaining 80 blocked roads. According to officials, a total of 160 machines have been deployed on the roads including 62 on State highways, 13 on main district roads, eight on other district roads and 77 on rural roads. Apart from these, 81 machines have been deployed on PMGSY roads. So far, the electricity supply to 591 villages was disrupted out of which the supply was restored to 425 villages with efforts underway to restore power supply in the remaining 166 villages.
Meanwhile, the State Disaster Response (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are continuing rescue and relief efforts in various disaster affected areas of the State.
