The secretary, Housing, R Rajesh Kumar said that 1872 houses constructed at a cost of Rs 156 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Bagwala would soon be allotted to the beneficiaries in the presence of the Prime Minister or chief minister. He said this while conducting an on-site inspection of various under-construction schemes in Rudrapur. He added that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 2.0 is also coming up soon. He also directed the officials concerned to collect the money from the beneficiaries so that the houses are allotted to the beneficiaries quickly.
Notably, as per the scheme, the government is to contribute Rs 3 lakh while the beneficiary is to contribute Rs 3 lakh.
