The prestigious Shailesh Matiyani awards for excellence in teaching were declared by the state government on Tuesday. In an order the secretary education R Meenakshi Sundaram said that 19 teachers have been selected for the award. The list includes eight primary school teachers and 11 secondary school teachers. In the primary section Anju Lingwal of Bainoli Bhardar, Rudraprayag, Madhu Negi of Aampata, Tehri, Sunita Bartwal Nabha House Rishikesh, Dehradun, Rubina Khan of toun, Pithoragarh, Nirmala Arya of Manyuda, Bageshwar, Santosh Kumar Joshi of Suryagaon, Nainital, Deepa Arya of Lamgada, Almora and Kiran Sharma of Kachnal Gaji Kashipur, Udham Singh Nagar would get the award. While in the secondary section the names of Banita Panwar of Purola, Uttarkashi, Girish Chandra Dimri of Kujasu Pokhari, Chamoli, Vinod Prasad Bhatt of Rudraprayag, Ashok Kumar Badoni of Manjakot Chauras, Tehri, R K Saini of Sahaspur, Dehradun, V P Khankhariyal of Kholachori, Kot, Pauri, Bahadur Singh Kunwar Dharchula, Pithoragarh, Suresh Ram of Champawat, Shambu Dayal Shah of Salyuda, Nainital, Gita Rani of Syalde of Almora and Narendra Pal Singh of Turkagori, Udham Singh Nagar are in the list
