199 roads blocked in various parts of State

Rain and landslides have continued to hamper routine life in the State. According to the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC), 199 roads were blocked in various parts of the State on Saturday evening. In the Rudraprayag district, the national highway to Kedarnath is open for small vehicles at Kund but blocked by landslide debris at Sonprayag. Nine rural motor roads are also blocked in the district. The national highways to Gangotri and Yamunotri are open in Uttarkashi district while one State highway, one main district road, one other district road and seven rural motor roads are blocked in the district. Four rural motor roads are blocked in Nainital district while one main district road and 17 rural motor roads are blocked in Bageshwar district. In the Dehradun district, two State highways and 25 rural motor roads are blocked while one national highway, three border roads and 27 rural motor roads are blocked in the Pithoragarh district. One State highway and three rural motor roads are blocked in Almora district while 14 rural motor roads are blocked in the Champawat district. Two rural motor roads are blocked in Pauri district. A total of 22 rural motor roads are blocked in the Chamoli district while the national highway to Badrinath is open for traffic. One State highway, one main district road and nine rural motor roads are blocked in Tehri district while one State highway and one rural motor road are blocked in Udham Singh Nagar district. Efforts are underway to reopen the blocked roads, officials said.
