1st round of NEET counseling ends for State quota in medical colleges
643 cut off marks for the candidates of general category in the govt medical colleges of Uttarakhand

The first round of the State counseling of selected candidates to fill the State quota of the seats in government, private medical and dental colleges of the State from the NEET score ended on Thursday. In the counseling 2,725 candidates took part and the seats were allotted to 977 candidates. The controller of examinations of the HNB Uttarakhand Medical Education university Vijay Juyal said that 114 seats are still vacant after the first round. He however added that all the vacant seats are of the reserved categories like orphan, freedom fighter and divyang. He said that the last cut off for medical seats in government colleges of the State in the general category is 643. Similarly the cut off for OBC, SC and ST categories in the government medical colleges remained at 631, 505 and 522 respectively. The last cut off of general category candidates in the private medical colleges is 387. Juyal said that the selected candidates will now submit advance fees online and the last date of admissions is September 5.
In Uttarakhand there are four government medical colleges, Government medical college Dehradun ( 150 seats), government medical college Srinagar ( 150 seats), government medical college Haldwani ( 125 seats) and Government medical college Almora ( 100 seats). Similarly the State has SGRR medical college, Himalayan institute of medical sciences and Gautam Buddha medical college. The State has two private dental colleges ( Seema dental college Rishikesh and Uttaranchal dental and medical research institute Dehradun.
