2 bike lifters held, 7 bikes recovered

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Haridwar police busted a two-wheeler lifting racket with the arrest of two suspected members of the gang and recovery of seven motorbikes stolen. Police said that they are now on the lookout for other members of the gang who are at large. Sharing details, a Kaliyar police station officer said that acting on inputs that some members of the bike lifting gang might come, police stepped up surveillance in the area. Two suspicious- looking persons riding a motorbike being spotted on the road connecting Mewar Kalan village with Imlikhera village, the police teams motioned them to stop but they started speeding away. The police teams encircled them and asked them to show documents of the bike. They could not show papers and even said that the bike had been stolen. The duo was identified as Raees and Shamsher, both residents of villages under the Kaliyar police station limits. During interrogation, they said that they had stolen the bike from Paluni and disclosed further that they had hidden some stolen bikes at a place. Police team later recovered six bikes from the place the duo told about. They have been sent to court and from there to jail while police teams are looking for other members of the bike lifting gang.
