Two cattle smugglers were injured in an encounter with police at Harbhj Wala area in Patelnagar of Dehradun. Patelnagar police station said that the duo, travelling in an auto rickshaw, was asked to stop at the checking point but they refused to stop and opened fire on the police team instead. Police resorted to firing and they were injured-one in his hand and the other in the leg.
They were first rushed to the Mahant Indresh Hospital and later referred to Coronation Hospital. Police said that they were notorious cattle smugglers from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
