2-day Plant Science Researchers’ Meet concludes

The seventh two-day Plant Science Researchers’ Meet organised under the joint aegis of the Faculty of Agriculture and Agroforestry of Kumaun University Nainital and Plantica Foundation concluded. The scientists from various institutions of the country and abroad as well as researchers and experts working on agricultural science participated. In the inaugural session of the conference, the vice- chancellor of GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Prof Manmohan Singh Chauhan participated. In his address, he highlighted the new research being done in the field of plant science and its importance and said that scientific understanding of plants was the key to prosperity through agriculture.
The KU’s VC Prof Diwan Singh Rawat in his address said that research in plant science was not only important for environmental protection but could prove helpful in improving the productivity of the farmers and their quality of life.
