Two differently abled children have gone missing from a school meant for the children with physical and mental disabilities in the Peerumadara area of Ramnagar on Thursday night. A school teacher Anupriya Sharma submitted a written complaint at the Ramnagar police station on Friday and urged the police to trace the missing children at the earliest and ensure their safe recovery.
As per the complaint, the two boys left the institution at around 9 PM on August 6 and have not been traced since. The missing children have been identified as Deva and Shyam, both around 14 years old.
The complaint further states that both the boys are suffering from physical and intellectual disabilities.
Ramnagar police station in-charge, Sushil Kumar said police have started an investigation based on the complaint. “CCTV footage from the school and surrounding areas is being examined. We will also question the school staff, local residents and other possible witnesses,” he said.
The Kotwal further said that they were trying to determine the circumstances in which the two boys left the school and the direction in which they went. “Police are also examining whether there was any negligence or any other reason behind the incident,” he added.
