In latest news from Uttarakhand, two women were killed and four were seriously injured as the vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the Chopra-Dungri road near Koteshwar in Rudraprayag district and plunged into a 150 m deep gorge. Upon being informed, a SDRF team rushed to the mishap site and conducted rescue operation.
There were six passengers-four women and two men. Two women who were from the same family were killed on the spot. The bodies were pulled up. The injured were pulled up too and brought to an alternative route by stretchers on way to hospital. The two deceased were identified as Kalpeswari (58) and Aarti ( 24).
