In the Pauri bus mishap which killed 33 persons on Tuesday, one of the passengers- two-year-old Divyanshi was found alive. The child was found with the body of her mother by personnel of SDRF and police undertaking the rescue operation. The mother had reportedly held the baby tightly to her chest at the time of the mishap, which may have saved her life. Although the rescue operation was completed the Dhumakot police were at the accident site to conclude the operation, said sub-inspector Bhawana Bhatt.
It will be recalled that a bus carrying 52 persons attending a marriage fell into a gorge near Timri village in the Pauri district on Tuesday, killing 31 persons on the spot while two more died on the way to the hospital. The injured are being treated at the base hospital in Kotdwar.
