20 Covid patients booked for fleeing from quarantine centre

Out of 38 infected covid patients admitted at the Sridev Suman combined health quarantine centre 20 of them are reported to have fled without informing any one there on Saturday night said the district administration officials. Narendranagar police have registered cases under various sections against these persons and have begun search to trace out all these infected people who belong to different states.
All the patients who fled from here are from different states including Rajasthan, Haryana, Odisha and Uttarakhand among others. The matter came to light when the ward boy went to serve the food but found 20 out of 34 patients missing during the head count. The hospital and the local administration have begun the search to trace these Covid-19 infected persons.
Narendranagar sub divisional magistrate Yukta Mishra said, “Cases have been registered against the 20 patients under Disaster Management Act and Epidemic Diseases Act. Legal action is being initiated.”
