The 20 percent rebate provided by the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) on the property tax will end on January 31. According to the municipal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, the corporation has collected property tax of about Rs 20 crore since April which is less than the collection MCD had last year in the corresponding period. He said that the corporation did not set any definite target of collecting property tax for this financial year due to Covid-19 pandemic but the MCD will not extend the last date of the rebate after January 31.
Moreover, the officials informed that those who are incapable of depositing property tax through online mode or visiting the MCD campus like senior citizens, they can approach the corporation and the officials will provide the facility to submit the tax in their homes.
