A blood donation camp and felicitation ceremony was organised by many organisations on the occasion of National Doctors day here on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal said that doctors fought a major battle to save mankind during the pandemic of Covid-19. He said that it is appreciable that the doctors are being honoured.
Bansal said that the doctors should not engage in determination of sex of unborn children so that the sex ratio is maintained. The mayor of Dehradun Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ appreciated the services rendered by the doctors during the pandemic and appealed that the single use plastic should not be used. The Tehri MLA Kishore Upadhyaya greeted doctors and hoped that the rural poor would get cheap and good medical facilities.
The programme was chaired by noted physician Dr SD Joshi.
In the programme 21 doctors were felicitated that included the principal of Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital Dr Ashutosh Sayana, Dr SD Joshi, Dr Jyoti Sharma, Dr RK Tamta, Dr Anil Arya, Dr Govind Pujari and Dr Digvijay Singh Rawat.
In the blood donation camp 52 units of the blood were collected.
