In latest news from Dehradun, the State agriculture and rural development minister Ganesh Joshi said in a statement issued by his department that 21 road projects have been approved under Mera Gaon, Meri  Sadak yojna.  Applauding the road building initiatives being taken by the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in the rural areas of the State, the minister said that these roads would benefit the rural populace in myriad of ways. He further said that the Pushkar Singh Dhami government is committed to developing the rural part of Uttarakhand through its focus on income generation, self-employment, housing and road construction. Last year, 36 such roads were approved as part of the project and works are currently under way. The minister further said in the statement that the implementation of these road building projects would not just open direct or indirect job generation avenues but also help the farmers take their produce to the markets which would brighten the prospects of the doubling of their incomes.
