21 UKSSSC paper leak accused booked under Gangster Act

On the directions of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to take strict action in line with the government’s policy of zero tolerance for corruption, the police have booked 21 accused in the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) paper leak case under the Gangster Act.
The director general of police Ashok Kumar had ordered, in line with the chief minister’s directions, that strict action should be taken against those involved in the examination malpractice nexus and illegal property being acquired by those indulging in organised crime. Following the orders and based on the report of the Uttarakhand Special Task Force, a case was registered in the Raipur police station under the Gangster Act against 21 accused in the UKSSSC paper leak case. According to officials, with a case being registered under the Gangster Act, action can be initiated to seize the illegally acquired immovable property of the accused.
It is pertinent to mention here that so far the STF has arrested 33 persons accused in the UKSSSC examination paper leak case. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has stressed on more than one occasion that the State government will ensure strict action on the accused persons in this case in order to set an example for the future. The State government aims to maintain its policy of zero tolerance for corruption and discourage such malpractices from being repeated in the future.
