213 roads still blocked in various parts of State

There were no reports of any new major damage due to rains and related factors in the State on Sunday. However, at least 213 roads were reported to be blocked in various parts of the State. According to the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC), one State highway, two three mai district roads, one other district road and 12 rural motor roads were blocked along with nine bridges damaged in Haridwar district. The water in the Ganga river at 4 PM on Sunday was 292.80 metres, a few metres below the danger level of 294 metres. In the Uttarkashi district, the national highways to Gangotri and Yamunotri are open though 20 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked. Similarly, the national highway to Kedarnath was open though 13 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in Rudraprayag district. The national highway to Badrinath was open though 19 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in Chamoli district. In the Dehradun district, two State highways, one main district road, one other district road and 39 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked while in the Tehri district one State highway and 11 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked. Fourteen rural motor roads were blocked in Bageshwar district while one State highway, two main district roads and 40 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in Pauri district. Five rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in the Almora district. One State highway and eight rural motor roads were blocked in Nainital district, one State highway and four rural motor roads were blocked in Champawat district while one border road and 12 rural motor roads were blocked in the Pithoragarh district. Officials stated that efforts are underway to reopen the blocked roads.
