22 new CCTV cameras now on in Paltan Bazaar

In order to enhance public safety, Dehradun district magistrate Savin Bansal, along with senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh inaugurated 22 CCTV cameras and a public address (PA) system in Paltan Bazaar on Saturday. 

During the event, Bansal emphasised that all available resources are dedicated to public interest. He stated that government services and social schemes aim to benefit every citizen and efforts are being made to achieve this goal. He also said that all suggestions received for  the public’s benefit would be seriously considered.

Further, Singh said that proposals submitted to the DM for security and traffic arrangements in the city are being promptly addressed, leading to the release of necessary funds. This has contributed to maintaining law and order in the area. He added that while the police budget has limitations, cooperation with the district administration is helping to overcome these challenges, and improvements will soon be evident in the city. The SSP also announced plans to install 46 additional CCTV cameras in Rishikesh.

During the event, members of the Vyapar Mandal commended the collaborative efforts between the DM and SSP to enhance public safety. They highlighted the effective coordination between the district administration and police as a key factor in achieving positive outcomes for the community. Traders present also requested for the installation of CCTV cameras in Sarafa Bazaar, to which the DM responded by asking the police to submit a proposal.

Earlier during the joint visit of the DM and SSP instructions were issued to set up CCTV cameras, a public address system and pink booths in Paltan Bazaar for the safety of the public, traders and women. The DM has allocated funds for this initiative, resulting in the formal launch of the CCTV cameras and public address system in Paltan Bazaar on Saturday.
