The district magistrate Mayur Dixit instructed the department heads/office heads to declare the polling day January 23 as a paid public holiday for all the personnel/artisans/labourers working in the government offices/educational institutions/semi-bodies/commercial establishments located within the areas of the urban local bodies of the district in accordance with the notification number dated December 23, 2024 of the State election commission. Treasuries and sub-treasuries falling in the ULB areas will also remain closed on the said date.
