245 young docs deployed on bond by health dept

A day after the clearance given by the health minister Dhan Singh Rawat, the health department of Uttarakhand appointed 245 young doctors on contract on Saturday. These doctors have just received their MBBS degree from three government medical colleges of the state. These doctors are under an agreement (Bond) with the state health services. The doctors of their appointment were given by the director general (DG) state health services Dr Shailja Bhatt. The doctors include 134 from Government Doon Medical College (GDMC), 102 from Government Medical College Haldwani and nine from Government Medical College Srinagar.
The health department has deployed 39 of these 245 doctors in Chamoli, 25 in Uttarkashi, 25 in Rudraprayag, 12 in Pauri, 18 in Tehri, six in Nainital, 29 in Bageshwar, 25 in Champawat, 25 in Pithoragarh and 41 in Almora districts.
Expressing happiness, the health minister said that all these doctors would be posted in health centres located in remote and mountainous areas.
